Well as you all know, (Atleast I hope you did) I held a free t-shirt contest all last week. All the lucky winners are listed below:

All winners will be contacted this week concerning the tee sizes, colors and designs....yea you'll be able to pick what you want. (Changed my mind.) Once again congrats guys and thanks for supporting. After this is cleared up the next 2 big tasks will be a full site overhaul and also sweaters/hoodies! I mentioned them awhile back and with fall creeping up, clearly hoodie season is approaching. Need to get right for that!

I'm sure I've mentioned my love for hip hop before. Even some of my tee's are inspired by music. So when I heard RTB was coming to NYC, there was no way I could miss it. I tried to post as many pics as possible to give you guys a feel for what it was like. (None of Lauryn Hill, Krs and Rakim though - Blame my camera.) I'm sure you can find those online along with guest appearances from Jay-z, Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige and more. Even musicians are fans! Anyway, enjoy:

Contest starts, MONDAY, August 30th 2010 and Ends FRIDAY September 3rd 2010. One winner per day. 5 winners in total. Requirements are simple:

1. Have a twitter account.
2. Follow @toysldrs

Winners will be picked at random using the hashtag #TYS. A number will be drawn for each day and the person who's tweet it lands on will earn the tee for that day. If you know how twitter works, its simple, the more you use #TYS in your tweets (doesn't matter what you say.) the better your odds are at it being your tweet that gets picked. However, no one is allowed to win more than once. At the end of the week after names are collected I'll contact you for mailing and size info. Shirts will be random, but will definitely come from the selection in the shop.

Contest update, new tees and hoodies?!

After A LOT of waiting, everything for the Field Rations contest have come in. I'm still debating exactly how many of them will be given away. Perhaps there will be 2 rounds? 5 tees each? We'll see. But each will come with a Random Tee (in your size), 1 soldier, and some stickers. I'm waiting for some samples to come in by the end of next week. After THOSE come in, the contest will begin. The only requirements will be you'll need a twitter account and have to be following me.

The 3 tees that were supposed to be released earlier last week have been put on hold. As mentioned above, still waiting on the samples. (I hate waiting btw.) Finally, hoodies. I got asked about those and yes theres some on the way. Both pullovers and zipups. They'll be ready to go probably by the end of the month/mid september. Basically hoodie season lol. Keep a look out for those. I get bored with designs..so expect the layout to keep changing. (Its a bad habit.)

Well well well...look what what we have here..! As promised, you can expect the contest prizes to be packaged just like the classic "Toy Soldiers" were. I'm still waiting patiently for the stickers to make their way to my desk. Until then figured I'd give you guys something to look at. And yes..you will be getting a ramdom Toy Soldier along with the FREE t-shirt..I mean its only right. lol. Full details on the #FieldRations contest will be available once the rest of shipments come in. Stay tuned for that.

To those curious - the name is based on the emergency food packs soldiers would get. So much like an actual soldier is given rations while in the field/combat - we can't have you in the streets without your proper rations! For those who haven't noticed, the "King Hova" tee was given an upgrade. Removing the old spades logo, it was replaced by a Diamond to signify Jay-z's time as the Roc-a-fella records leader in addition to one of his most known lines. Available in both men and women sizes. Check it out in the store. Expect 2 or 3 more tees later on this week as well. "Professor Triton", "Audio Dope" and "Around the World." Spread the word!

How fitting, it was around the same time last week when the site itself launched..only to be relaunched..lol. One thing the original site needed in my opinion, was a blog. Somewhere I can talk directly to viewers, customers, etc. about my designs and things to come. For example: Contests.

Thats right. If you haven't done so already, make sure to follow on twitter @ToySoldiersShop In the coming week or so I will be holding a contest and giving away free tees. (In whatever size you wear - but the tees will be random ;) ) I'm still waiting for the materials I ordered to all come in. From there I'll package everything together and have more details about it here. Until then look around through the store for the current tees, bookmark us and feel free to promote the brand. :)
